Review: Pool of Dreams

Review: Pool of Dreams
The cover of the book Pool of Dreams by Sam Burns and WM Fawkes. It shows a naked man half submerged in a pool. He has long brown hair and blue eyes, a swirling tattoo covering the right side of his torso. His left hand hold a sword. Golden flowers float around him in the water. A rust colored sheet ribbons around him, hiding his groin area where the title is written in gold letters.

This book is the latest by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes, two authors that I have followed for a long time now, who have been essential in my decision to write my first novel. I am eternally thankful.

This book is a standalone, and an excellent representation of this duo’s talent when it comes to crafting characters. On one side a snarky, sassy, horny fae, on the other an honorable solemn man

The best part? They’re each other’s weak spot – yet manage to rely on each other’s strength in the struggle they face in the plot.

The side characters are just as engaging, and I found myself rooting for relationships, or cosmic punishment on some of them.

As it is a standalone, the story is self-contained, the conflict resolved, and end in a very satisfying HEA.

Close up of a wet feather in plum color.

Review: Calarni

My thoughts on Calarni – Virsana Empire: Sir Yaden Book 6; by Beryll and Osiris Brackhaus.
